Perfect love

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear." 1 Jn 4:18

This verse has been transformed in my mind during the past few months. (Thank you to my friend who shared it when needed.) God has been showing Himself great, in so many ways. Have you ever noticed that two verses before this text, John tells us that "God is love." So, rephrase that verse: "There is no fear in God; but the perfect God casteth out fear." That is an assuring promise, one that can wipe away any tear, chase away every fear, and capture our hearts with gentlest care.
